總教練Dusty Baker也認為，會把此任務交給28歲的Strasburg，最主要是他過去曾3次擔任開幕戰投手，而這3場球，國民隊都順利獲勝，況且他三振功力也不錯，開幕戰累積20局，就能飆出18次三振。
此外，國民對另一強投Max Scherzer過去兩年都擔任開幕戰先發，由於今年春訓他有受傷狀況，可能會從第三號先發開始。
金州勇士26日108：109惜敗宿敵克里夫蘭騎士，「KD」Kevin Durant操刀最後一擊卻踉蹌摔倒，他賽後意有所指地暗示，他被犯規了。

「那真的是很困難的出手。」Kerr說：「我認為Klay（Thompson）已經守的非常好了。」
